The Albay Arts Foundation Inc. (AAFI or AAF) is a non-government non-profit organization formed in 2022 by private individuals who envision to harness the capabilities of the arts in supporting the development of communities.

Our History

Albay Arts Foundation Inc. (AAFI, stylized as AAF) began as an aspiration to provide Albay, the Bicol region, and the national and global communities with which it will interact additional venue to explore the capabilities and possibilities of the arts help build better societies. Envisioned by friends across three continents and for over five years, AAF had quickly turned to reality once the commonalities in individual goals had been aligned. To date, our journey in time can be illustrated below:\

 

Goals 2022-2024

Goal 1: Build a physical art center with permanent and temporary exhibition of visual arts, facilities for the performing arts, and a fully operational library.

Goal 2: Involve participation of the local community, especially the host municipality and barangay.

Goal 3: Initiate productive and mutually beneficial collaboration with educational, cultural, and other relevant institutions in the region and beyond.

Goal 4: Develop and implement a funding mechanism and strategy to fully operationalize the art center.

Art Campuses

AAF is developing an art campus that will provide  human-centered experiences to all guests. An 11-hectare wooded property facing the Gulf of Albay with a view of the Mayon Volcano will host the following structures:

Satellite Art Gallery

In addition to the main campus, a satellite art gallery will be operated in Cabangan, Legazpi City. This location will host the following:

  • Preview of the main campus
  • Gallery for temporary visual art exhibits
  • Performance space for intimate events
  • Meeting room for operations and coordination
