The first meeting of Albay Arts Foundation was held on March 11, 2022 in Mirisbiris Garden and Nature Center in Salvacion, Santo Domingo, Albay. Ten members of the Board of Trustees were present in person.
As it was the initial meeting where most of the Board met in person, self-introductions were done, followed by aligning with the Foundation’s goals, scope, and timeline. The Trustees also discussed the private purchase of the property in Salvacion which was promised to be AAF’s future art campus. The short-term financial situation and planning of the initial buildings were described by Treasurer Allan Schapira and President Rafael Buemia, respectively. Proposals for rules for admission of members were covered.
The meeting was capped by the signing of the Article of Incorporation and Bylaws. Some of the Trustees visited the future campus site after lunch.
Star Prior is AAF’s Secretary. She is an educator who has worked with Ateneo de Naga and several Cambridge International Schools in Indonesia and Myanmar. She is currently an Assistant Examiner for Cambridge University.
