Bicol KUGOS artists launches Art vs. Cancer, Kugos kay PeeWee on Saturday on July 29, 2023 in Pepperland Hotel, Legazpi City. Dubbed as “An Art Exhibit for a Cause”, the show features original works by renowned Bicolano artists. The exhibit runs until August 29, 2023.
The exhibit is targeted to raise funds in support of the treatment of PeeWee Matza for stage 3 colon cancer. Organizing and leading the exhibit is Dee Jai, PeeWee’s partner. Well-known for her vibrant and whimsical paintings on large canvasses, Dee Jai is a member of Bicol KUGOS and Albay Arts Foundation.
Aside from works of KUGOS members, the exhibit likewise features pieces by Regine Eina Esternon, and Denley Mirabueno, trustee and member of AAF, respectively.
Jaymar Bonaobra is a licensed math teacher. He works as an instructor at Bicol University College of Science. He reads books and writes poems in his spare time. He’s passionate about volunteering and doing community immersion.
